Oscar Suspended For Eight Games In Chinese Super League

Brazilian Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Junior received a fine and suspension from the Chinese Football Association (CFA) on Thursday, because of his irrational behaviors in a 13rd round game of the Chinese Super League (CSL).

According to CFA, the 25-year-old was banned for eight CSL games and fined 40,000 Chinese yuan (about 5,850 US dollars).

Brazilian superstars Oscar and Hulk were in the middle of a wild brawl during Sunday’s Chinese Super League clash between Shanghai SIPG and Guangzhou R&F.

Right before the half-time whistle, Hulk nutmegged a defender and looked to dribble past another before a frustrated Oscar thumped the ball towards Li Tixiang.

The clash occurred in the last minute of the first half, when Oscar kicked the ball onto two R&F players and was pushed to the ground by R&F’s Chen Zhizhao.

Players and coaches of both teams then rushed towards the field. R&F’s Li Tixiang and SIPG’s Fu Huan were sent off.

Oscar had set up Hulk for the equaliser in the first half as both the sides played out a 1-1 draw with 10 men each.

Besides Oscar, other participators, including Chen, Li and Fu, also faced suspension and fines. And both clubs were fined 50,000 Chinese yuan each.

Shanghai SIPG would pay 40,000 more, as it didn’t comply with the CFA’s regulations of participating in pre-game press conference.
