Misery Pilled: Mourinho Sent Off In A Disappointing 0-0 Draw And May Receive Further FA Punishment
Last night’s Premier league match at Old Trafford ended in a disappointment for Jose Mourinho. The Portugese was sent off to the stands as he received his 13th touchline punishment of the managerial career.
Mourinho was furious as his side were denied a penalty appeal against Burnley as the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
He now is now in danger of facing a stadium or touchline ban for his new club after protesting wildly to Clattenburg in the tunnel.
He already faces one charge of misconduct from the Football Association following the comments he made about referee Anthony Taylor prior to United’s game against Liverpool on 17th October.
The manager was seen out-bursting the referee and his assistants as Darmian went down in the box before half time.
Mourinho received a 2 match ban after poking Guardiola’s assistant, Tito Vilanova during an El Clasico encounter in Spain.
He was also fined £5,000 after claiming Sir Alex Ferguson had unduly influenced the referee during a League Cup semi-final.
And during his second spell at Chelsea, he was fined £50,000 and given a suspended stadium ban at Stoke as he stated: “The FA don’t punish other managers, they punish me.”
Manchester United were unable to score in 37 attempts. A frustrated Mourinho saw his 10 men side from the director’s box slump to 8th position in the league.
