‘Tottenham Hotspur Are ‘100 Per Cent’ Premier League Title Contenders’

Danish star Christian Eriksen is confident that Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur have all the potential to challenge for the Premier League title.

Spurs are currently fifth in the Premier League table, one point behind fourth placed Wenger’s Arsenal and 10 points behind current league leaders Chelsea.

After a positive start this season, Spurs succumbed to pressure and lost 2-1 to Conte’s Chelsea followed by a 1-0 loss to Manchester United. But after back-to-back wins over Hull City and Burnley they have regained the much needed confidence and self-belief.

And now, Eriksen believes that they have proved their mettle and are at par with top teams. The Spurs midfielder believes that they are very much in the title race and can finish top of the pile at the end of the season.

Eriksen : “Yes, Tottenham can challenge for the title 100 per cent, for sure.”

“If you watch the first 44-and-a-half minutes of the game at Chelsea, I think we did very, very well. We showed we can compete with them. It’s not like you can say, ‘oh they are much better.”

“Yes, they are doing really well and have not lost for 11 games and are on a really good run. But for us it is just about keeping up with everyone else and being as close as possible to the top.”

“Of course I really want us to do better than last season, when we did really well. Hopefully we will finish even higher and we want to be in a position to do that so that is the main target.”

Christian EriksenTottenham Hotspur finished third in the table last season, as Arsenal snatched the second place during the fag end of the season with Leicester City lifting the trophy for the first time in their history.
