AC Milan Snap Up Signing Of Wolfsburg Defender Ricardo Rodriguez!

The Swiss international leaves the Volkswagen Arena after a successful five-and-a-half-year spell in Germany, having arrived in Wolfsburg from FC Zurich as a 19-year-old in January 2012.

The 24-year-old becomes the Rossoneri’s third new signing this summer, and third since the end of Silvio Berlusconi’s near 31-year reign as club owner, joining Mateo Musacchio and Franck Kessie at the disposal of coach Vincenzo Montella next season.

He signed a four-year deal with AC Milan after completing a €17 million move from Wolfsburg, the clubs announced on Thursday.

Rodriguez, 24, already has 45 caps for Switzerland, a sign of just how highly rated he is within the national team, and he was also named 2014 Swiss Footballer of the Year.

The full-back scored two goals and recorded three assists in 24 Bundesliga appearances during the 2015-16 season and will offer his new outfit a versatile presence on the left side of defence, and he can also operate well in attack.

He thanked his former club for an “unforgettable” five seasons.

“We experienced and achieved a lot together,” he told Wolfsburg’s official website. “I have developed as a player and as a person, always feeling very comfortable and having won a lot of friends.

“However, now is the time for me to take the next step in my career. Milan are a top international club and a big new challenge for me.”
