ARSENAL SURGING AGAIN

Published on:

After the disastrous start to life, that ensured Arsenal were rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table after the first three games of the season, is beginning to wane off. However, many of the Arsenal faithful are beginning to see some glimpse of hope on the Arsenal season.

After all, it was just the beginning of the season! Though, having to start the season with the worst start to life in over 77 years in the history of the club called for panic – while the insistence of the team’s head coach doesn’t look too surprising. At least based on the heed of last Premier League campaign.

However, having to bounce back with three consecutive straight wins after three consecutive straight losses is quite the show. In fact, displaying a ruthless football with some impressive coordination and telepathic team spirit against the North London rival who has shown strength in recent years is a way to call fans back to their side.

TURNING POINT

More so, beating Tottenham Hotspurs is a way to energize your team back to life after some series of corpse relating manner of approach to the first three games of the season where Arsenal who is touted as one of the biggest teams in English top-flight football lost lackadaisically to a team that has never tasted Premier League football in their history

It was even more worrisome when there was constantly no threat to Chelsea in their second league game while the London rival was constantly opening up the Arsenal’s defence with few passes like there was no player available to the North London outfit.

Consequentially! Like there were no hope and no urge to surge their season around against the defending champion of the Premier League, Arsenal looked lost and out of will to survive. And Manchester City continually entrenched Arsenal in their misery as five goals were put past the makeshift Arsenal in a deserved rout of the Cityzens

However, like a rail of fresh air, the international break was the break needed by the trailing Arsenal side to turn their season all around and after the matchday six in the Premier League, the North London side is now back among the title contenders once more – while topping their north London rival who was at the summit of the EPL log going to the international break.

In fact, Arsenal is now five points behind the table topper, Liverpool as they are now sharing the same point with the newly promoted Brentford that handed Arsenal their first defeat of the season on matchday one.

However, the Gunners cannot be written off just yet and this might as well be the season that spring Arsenal title challenge back to life.

Though with the impressive form of Liverpool and defensive structure of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool in reference to their attack, the North London’s team have no chance of lifting the Premier League

However, Arsenal have begun to rise above their doubters to lay a claim to the season while it’s fresh. Moreover, going to the season, the Emirates stadium’s team will be looking to end their UEFA Champions League absence by ensuring they scoop the top-four podium place at the end of the season

And while the Gunners do not have the firepower like the other contending team, having a sense of unity that foster their season resurrection could be imperative to their sheer willingness to drive on their stance of having a huge season at hand.

More so, having some players who have something to prove to their doubter is another reason why Arsenal have had a sharp turnaround in their season. No one could’ve faulted Leno for the goals conceded in their opening three games,

RAMSDALE EFFECT

But the coming of Aaron Ramsdale has been nothing but a sensational addition to the Arsenal defence line that conceded nine goals in three Premier League fixtures prior to the establishment of the Englishman as the major shot-stopper for the North London club.

On his three Premier League, Ramsdale was able to keep two clean sheets while having himself to blame for the one conceded against Tottenham Hotspurs. In fact, with such a monstrous mentality, he might as well go on throughout the season as one of the best goalkeepers in the league.

Though, his other two appearances have been a little less magic where he kept his sheet clean against west West Brom and Wimbledon despite the Gunners winning emphatically. Also, his vocal ability to keep everyone on their toes defending is one of the big reasons Arsenal is not conceding like they used to.

Moreover, the inclusion of Takehiro Tomiyasu has provided a basis for another impressive defensive solidity, which was evident against Spurs as the Japanese found a way to neutralize the attacking prowess of Heung-Min Son with his positioning and fastidious tacklings throughout the match.

However, with solid defending, Arsenal now has the basis to attack at will which was also evident from the first 45minutes fluidity that the North London team showed against Spurs with the like of Emile-Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Aubameyang showed while running riot against the makeweight outing of their local rival.

However, the continuity of Kieran Tierney constantly joining the attack, while Tomiyasu staying behind is providing more basis of defending and template to brighten the attacking option proving the Spanish tactician as the coach he ought to be.

TEAM LOOKS DEEP NOW

And while Mikel Arteta is not afraid to bench anyone that is not performing irrespective of how important they are to the team is noteworthy and might increase each player’s level of awareness and healthy competition within the rank.

And while the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Gabriel Martinelli,  Folarin Balogun, and Alexandre Lacazette can provide the basis for the attacking healthy options and Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares and Calum Chambers among other defenders can give the current backline some rest as the season go on, while the likes Sambi Lokonga and Mohamed Elneny can keep the midfield fluidity intact.

Most importantly, Arsenal have been able to turn their season around early and managed to keep themselves in shape for the season and while having three consecutive winning streaks in the league and Carabao cup, their motivation is high and so is their team spirit

Coupled with the fact that Arsenal is not having any intercontinental competition to derail their focus, the North Londoners might just be having a season to propel them back to the elite group they once were and many teams should watch out for the resurrection of Arsenal.
