Kane to add to Arsenal’s Pain

ARSENAL VS TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

All eyes will be on Emirates Stadium on Sunday night when Arsenal and Tottenham face each other in the North London derby.

Mikel Arteta’s struggling Arsenal take on an inform Tottenham Hotspur, as the Gunners face the risk of no European football for the next season after poor performances, needing them to win the derby to get back in contention for the European spot.

Whilst the Gunners currently languish in mid table, Spurs have come into some much-needed form as they look to try and make a late charge into the top four.

The Gunners failed to turn their dominance into triumph in a 1-1 draw with Burnley, with the team remaining in the tenth position in the standings.

Tottenham have been a team in form, after winning 3 successive Premier League encounters which have put them on the 7th position, 7 points above the Gunners.

Arsenal aim to keep their Champions League hopes alive, and Mikel Arteta would be positive that his players will go all guns blazing at Spurs.

TEAM NEWS

Both teams almost have a clean bill when it comes to injuries. Arsenal have been boosted by the return of Thomas Partey, who has struggled this season with many injuries.

Gunners have otherwise a fully fit squad, with only Smith-Rowe a doubt to face Tottenham on Sunday.

Predicated Arsenal Lineup:

Leno; Bellerin, Gabriel, Pablo Mari, Tierney; Partey, Ceballos; Pepe, Odegaard, Saka; Aubameyang

The same could be said for Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham, where only Lo Celso is a long –term absentee.

Predicated Tottenham Hotspur Lineup:

Lloris; Aurier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Reguilon; Ndombele, Hojbjerg; Bale, Alli, Son; Kane

GAME CHANGERS

Since the past few seasons, Aubameyang has been Arsenal’s saviour in most of the matches. His drop in form has had a severe impact on the results for the Gunners.

Don’t expect the Gabon international to come to life in the North London Derby on Sunday, instead it could be left-back Kieran Tierney who could be Arsenal’s chief creator that day.

For Jose Mourinho’s men this season, it has been usually the Kane-Son partnership that has salvaged results from a rather mediocre season so far.

But more recently, it has been Gareth Bale that has stolen all the headlines, albeit for all the right reasons (for a change) and we expect the Welshman to come up with the goods once again on Sunday night.

PREDICTION

Jose Mourinho’s men have won their last three Premier League games, scoring nine goals in the process.

The Portuguese would need an attacking masterclass from his inform attackers Gareth Bale and Harry Kane, both of whom have an exceptional scoring record against the Gunners.

However, the visitors will have to be at their very best here to beat an Arsenal side highly motivated against their fierce rivals.

Tottenham should have an edge over the Gunners in the North London derby, and are favourites to beat the Gunners, denting the hopes of the extremely lucrative European football spot; hence, FootTheBall says, Arsenal 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur.
