Amidst the hullabaloo of the transfer season, FIFA has announced the fixtures of the English Premier League 2015-2016. When the world eagerly waits to find out which player leaves and who joins to strengthen the squad, team officials have already started formulating new strategies for starting the new season after the EPL fixture was released.
Chelsea will begin their campaign against Swasnea City and would like to hold on to their successful run from the previous season.
Brendan Rodgers however will be on the firing line as Liverpool starts the season with an away match against Stoke City. Liverpool Manager still feels the sting from the embarrassing defeat to Stoke City last season and would deploy all that he has in his hands to start with a win. The battle of nerves doesn’t end here as Liverpool has to visit Manchester United and Arsenal within the first 5 games that the club will play followed by visit to Everton, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City.
United who finally qualified for the champions league, finishing on the fourth place will host the Spurs in their opening fixture on August 8. United will be tested again in the much awaited derby when Liverpool will visit Old Trafford on September 12. The reverse fixture has been scheduled on January 16.
Chelsea might hope to win the opening match with Swansea City quite easily but their very next away match against Manchester City on August 15 will prove what they are made of. With rumours that Falcao will be joining Chelsea on loan, it will be interesting to see how Mourinho adjusts his starting lineup.
The Arsenal team must be still rejoicing their FA Cup tilte and will begin the campaign with a home match against West Ham. Things however will get heated up when Arsene Wenger will take his team to Stamford Bridge to play against Chelsea on September 19. We are all familiar with the intellectual warfare between Wenger and Mourniho. The football aficionados will however wait to witness, that who emerges victorious in the battle of nerves.
Football enthusiasts have to wait till December 28 to witness the battle between Van Gaal and Mourinho when Chelsea visits Old Trafford for the first time in the season. The reverse fixture has been scheduled at Stamford Bridge on February 6.
Liverpool will face Everton for the first time in the league on October 3 in an away match at Goodison Park. Roberto Martinez will take Everton to Anfield for the reverse fixture on February 27.
Old Trafford will host the first Manchester Derby on October 24. With rising rumours of Manchester City interested in former Man Utd prodigy Paul Pogba, the excitement seems to reach the zenith. The reverse fixture however is scheduled on March 19.
Whenever Tottenham plays Manchester City, one can expect a high voltage action as their rivalry dates way back in history. The Emirates Stadium will host the first North-London derby on November 7 and the teams will meet for the second time in the league when Tottenham will host City on March 5.
