Andre Carrillo and Paolo Guerrero each scored second-half goals to help Peru defeat Paraguay 2-0 in the third-place game at the Copa America on Friday.

Carrillo scored from just inside the area in the 48th minute and Guerrero sealed the victory from close range in the 89th, giving Peru its second-straight third-place finish in the South American competition. It had beaten Venezuela 4-1 in the consolation game in the 2011 tournament in Argentina.

Guerrero finished with four goals and is currently tied with Chile’s Eduardo Vargas.

Peru was eliminated by Chile in this year’s semifinals, while Paraguay lost to Argentina.

Paraguay was runner-up to Uruguay in 2011, losing the final 3-0.

Host Chile plays Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the final of the South American tournament on Saturday.
