Cristiano Ronaldo Claims 2016 To Be His Best Year Ever

Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo has surely silenced his remaining doubters with a trophy-laden 2016.

The Portuguese has described 2016 as probably his best year so far after taking home a Globe Soccer Award for the best player of the year.

Champions league triumph over home town rivals Atletico Madrid, maiden Euro win with Portugal and recent Club World Cup success sums up Ronaldo’s impressive season.

Cristiano Ronaldo also won the Ballon d’Or 2016 beating competition from Lionel Messi and Neymar.

“Collectively and individually, it was probably my best year so far,” Ronaldo said in a recorded video message.

“We won the Champions League with Real Madrid, we won a major title with Portugal’s national team for the first time, I won the Ballon d’Or, the Club World Cup. I cannot ask for more.”

“The people who still doubt me, Real Madrid and the national team, they now have the proof. We won everything.”

“So it has been an amazing year and I am very happy with it. I want to thank my team-mates from the national team and Real Madrid.”

Portugal boss Fernando Santos was named coach of the year award in the same ceremony.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented Jorge Mendes with agent of the year award.

Former Chelsea and current Roma winger Mohamed Salah was named the best Arab player of the year earning himself a maiden individual honour.
