Poland face Northern Ireland in the opening match of EURO 2016’s Group C on Sunday at the Stade de Nice in Nice.
Northern Ireland had to wait 30-years to return to a major finals, the last being the 1986 World Cup, they had a stunning qualifying campaign as they became the first fifth-seeded nation to win a EURO qualifying group.
Poland qualified to the Euros from a tough group that includes Germany, Republic Ireland and Scotland by finishing second, with 6 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss.
Even though Poland are favorites to win this match, with a huge thanks to the “Lewandowski” factor, Northern Ireland’s football team has grown in stature under Michael O’Neill in the past two years and no team can afford to take them lightly.
