Right after the end of the season, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had his eyes on the Chelsea goalkeeper and had offered a £11million deal for Cech.
Jose Mourinho was unwilling to sell him as he was aware of Cech’s contribution behind Chelsea’s success. However Cech showed interest for a move and the main reason behind this can be that he hardly found game time and barely made it to the first team sheet the last season and had to play as a substitute for Thibault Courtois at Stamford Bridge.
There has been no official confirmation on the signing but Sportsmail has announced that the transfer has been made and Petr Cech is moving to Arsenal this summer.
Cech was earlier by approcached by Paris Saint German but he put down their offer stating that he had no plans to leave London as he wanted to stay with his family.
Arsenal already has two goalkeepers- Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina in their kitty and the arrival of Cech into the side signifies that one of them would be shown the exit. With offers from Fenerbahce for signing either one of them, it would be interesting to see that who waves the final goodbye to the Emirates Stadium.
