Dhawan was the brand ambassador of the Goa-based team in its first season as well. “Varun is a friend of FC Goa. We still need to sit and discuss. All other things being equal hopefully he will continue as a brand ambassador,” Srinivas Dempo, owner of FC Goa team said.

Dempo said the actor is crazy about football and loves Goa. “He loves the team. We still have to conclude but I am sure he would like to be our brand ambassador. If he agrees to become the brand ambassador, he will be attending the matches representing our team,” he said.

FC Goa is currently getting ready for season two with its main coach Zico arriving in the state on Monday. The Second season of the Indian Super League will see FC Goa play the opening match in its home turf on October 4 against Delhi Dynamos.
