So. Much. Drama!

In what was one of the most entertaining games of the season, Tottenham and Liverpool played out an entertaining 2-2 draw. Harry Kane and Son Heung Min were on target for the home side while Diogo Jota and Andy Robertson scored for the away side.

The game was an end to end affair which saw goals, big missed chances, a potential red card, an actual red card and some underwhelming refereeing.

AN END TO END CHAOTIC FIRST HALF

Despite losing multiple team starters, it was Jurgen Klopp’s men who started brightly and could have been on the front in the first minute, but Andy Robertson could only head the ball over the post from 12 yards out. However, it was the home side that broke the deadlock through Kane in the 12th minute.

Ndombele who had started the match brightly split the duo of Ibrahim Konate and Robertson with a perfect pass and Kane was on spot to slot the ball past Alisson.

Tottenham had a glorious opportunity to make it 2-0 in the 30th minute but Dele Alli was denied by a brilliant fingertip save from Alisson.

The match was a total end to end stuff as both sides had chances, and it was Jota, who is on a scoring streak that opened the scoring for Liverpool.

Robertson who had earlier missed a simple chance turned provider as his cross was met headed into the net by the Portuguese.

Liverpool had another chance to take the lead but Hugo Lloris made a fine save from a Trent Alexander Arnold’s volley.

Both teams went into the half with the score at 1-1.

SECOND HALF, A REPEAT OF FIRST

If anyone thought that both teams would try to slow the pace of the game and opt for a more controlled pace in the second half, they were in for a surprise. Within the five minutes of the start, Jota and Kane had good chances to score.

Meanwhile, Alisson was a man in brilliant form as he again denied Tottenham.

A brilliant pass from Eric Deir found Alli who tried to draw the goalkeeper before trying to square a pass to Kane who had an empty net in front of him. However, the pass was under-hit and Alisson made sure that he reached the ball before Kane

Conte’s men had another glorious chance a minute later but Kane somehow managed to miss the goal from four yards. Liverpool made full use of these headlines as they took the lead soon after.

Alexander Arnold found Robertson who made sure not to miss this time but replays showed that the ball had touched Mohammad Salah’s arm during the buildup. However, VAR determined that since Lloris had cleared the ball after hitting Salah’s arm and was then picked up by Alexander Arnold, both incidents occurred in a different phase of plays and the goal stood.

However, Tottenham put the disappointment behind them and equalised a minute later.

Alisson who had been brilliant till then made a mess of a clearance which allowed Son to slot the ball into an empty net.

RECKLESS ROBERTSON

Though Robertson was himself on the end of a horrid tackle from Kane which warranted a red card, Liverpool’s left back assumingly feeling frustrated raised his intensity which eventually got him into trouble.   .

His tackle on Tanganga and Royale were nasty and showed ill intent . He was finally sent off once his tackle on Royale was referred to VAR the true extent of the tackle was seen and the left-back received his marching orders.

However, even with 10-man Liverpool held off for the Draw.
