Dybala Strikes Fear Into Opponents, Says Juventus Great Del Piero Amid Messi Comparisons

Paulo Dybala has made an incredible start to the new season and his superb form has made life miserable for opposition defenders, according to Italy and Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero.

Paulo Dybala was the Juventus hat-trick hero in win over Sassuolo

The Argentine forward scored a hat-trick on his 100th Juve appearance on Sunday as the defending champions outplayed Sassuolo 3-1 on Sunday and maintained their 100 per cent start this season.

Dybala already has eight goals to his name in four league matches and has 10 in six appearances in all competitions.

And on Sunday he was on another level – scoring the first from a sensational curling effort from outside of the penalty area. The Argentine forward netted two more after the break – slotting the ball home from a toe-poke finish and completed the hat-trick from a sublime free-kick.

Juventus legend Del Piero insisted that Dybala can score from anywhere, at any time and in any fashion.

Del Piero said that this uncertainty over how the Argentine will score makes Dybala, who has been compared to Messi, so dangerous.

Asked about the free-kick, Del Piero told Sky Sport Italia: “It wasn’t an exceptional one and it wasn’t at too much of an angle but there was just enough of one for him to score.”

“[Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea] Consigli was almost in awe and that tells you Dybala is growing, not only with his goals but also in terms of how he plays.”

“People are afraid to face him at the moment, even when it comes to free-kicks. You don’t know what can happen.”

“Consigli could have saved it but he moved too late. The free-kick was well-hit, anyway.”
