Jose To Sign Benfica Keeper Ederson Or Atletico Star Jan Oblak Should De Gea Depart For Real Madrid

Premier League giants Manchester United will launch bid for either Benfica goalkeeper Ederson or Atletico Madrid stopper Jan Oblak if De Gea part ways with the club.

De Gea has displayed incredible form for the Red Devils in the last few seasons and has been a long-time target for La Liga giants Real Madrid.

And as it seems that De Gea could opt for a move to Real Madrid, Mourinho has wasted no time and is busy looking for replacements instead of promoting Sergio Romero to number one.

Los Blancos almost signed De Gea in 2015, before the defending Champions League champions laid the blame on a faulty fax machine for failing to rope in the Spanish keeper from Man Utd at the 11th hour.

De Gea had signed a new bumper deal at Man Utd when his expected move to Real Madrid fell through in 2015

Sources reveal that it seems that Mourinho is willing to let De Gea part ways with Manchester United but the Portuguese manager has made up his mind that he will not sell any player for less than what he assumes to be their exact market value in the transfer market.

Manchester United would not let their superstar leave until and unless the Los Blancos come up with a tempting offer.

But Foottheball sources reveal that Real Madrid are now confident of roping in their long-term target and are eyeing a to launch €60m bid for the Spaniard.

De Gea’s recent performances – his concentration and distribution has been under the scanner and it has left Man Utd worried. The Red Devils have now identified potential replacements for the Spaniard that include Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and Benfica goalkeeper Ederson.

Ederson has proved his mettle at Benfica and has established himself as the club’s No.1 this term – earning 27 starts out of 33 Primeira Liga matches. He has played a pivotal role in guiding them to a fourth consecutive title.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper is managed by super-agent Jorge Mendes, who also manages De Gea and Mourinho.

Man Utd are desperate to rope in Diego Simeone’s key man Antoine Griezmann in the summer, and are also eyeing to land his Atletico team-mate, according to Foottheball sources.

Oblak had joined Atletico Madrid from Benfica in 2014 and since then he has displayed incredible form to establish himself as one of Europe’s top goalkeepers. He also bagged the La Liga Zamora award last season for conceding only 18 goals in 38 games and also found himself in the Champions League team of the year.
