Man City Star Kevin De Bruyne To Land Bumper New Contract

Kevin De Bruyne is set to put pen to paper on a bumper new deal with Manchester City to fend off interests from Real Madrid and Barcelona, according to reports.

De Bruyne has guided Man City to the top of the Premier League table this season

De Bruyne has emerged as one of the best footballers in the world and the Man City hierarchy want to reward him for his incredible performances by making him the club’s highest paid player – in a bid to keep him out of the clutches of Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The Belgian attacking midfielder still has three and a half seasons left on his current contract he signed during his £54million move from Wolfsburg to City in 2015.

But, according to reports, De Bruyne is on the brink of agreeing on a new five-year contract worth around £200,000 a week – along with huge add-ons for winning the Champions League, Premier League and the Ballon d’Or.

De Bruyne had offers from Europe’s elite clubs – including Paris Saint-Germain.

But the Belgian rejected all other offers to join Man City two and half years ago and is very happy with his life at the Etihad where he has displayed sensational form to guide Pep Guardiola’s Man City to the the top of the Premier League table – and in the process has seen his transfer value rise to around £150m.

De Bruyne is in red-hot form this season

“I always say in football that a lot of things can happen very quickly,” De Bruyne said.

“But I’m very happy here and the people at the club know that.

De Buyne is playing an anchoring role for Man City this season

“I’ve no feeling to go anywhere else and enjoy being part of the project here and playing the kind of football we are playing.

“The team is going in the right direction and that’s also important. I made the right decision coming to City and my family feels the same so everything is good.”

Man City are also preparing new deals for their midfield genius Fernandinho, whose current contract is set to run out next summer, and his Brazilian team-mate Gabriel Jesus.
