Perisic To Manchester United ‘Is Not Happening’, Say Inter

Published on:

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has rubbished reports that Ivan Perisic is set to join Manchester United this summer.

United want Perisic to be their player before Inter fly out to China next Tuesday.

Manchester United are keen on sealing a £40million move for Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic.

The Croatian midfielder has been heavily linked with a move Manchester United this summer.

Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho is desperate to bolster his squad in a bid to challenge for the title and wants to make Perisic his third signing of the summer, after successfully landing Benfica defender Victor Lindelof and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku at Old Trafford.

Perisic, right, scored 11 goals and added eight assists for Inter last season.

However, last weekend, Inter boss Luciano Spalletti has insisted that he wants to tie down Perisic.

Spalletti said that he wants to speak with the player before any decision is made on a possible transfer, as rumours claimed Perisic, who has joined the Inter squad for their pre-season training campaign in Northern Italy, wants the Serie A club to finalise his move to Man Utd as soon as possible.

But now, Ausilio accentuated that there has been no satisfactory offers from Man Utd and he made it clear that Perisic is not for sale.

Mourinho is keen on signing Perisic this summer.

He said: “It’s not happening. Perisic is training with us and so far we have not taken into consideration anything that Manchester United have offered us.”

Ausilio also revealed that Inter might not be able to rope in Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, despite reports claiming that the Belgian star is keen on reuniting with Spalletti.

Radja Nainggolan
Nainggolan has been linked with a move to Inter.

He said: “I follow him, as I do many other players. But as far as I’m aware. [former Roma sporting director] Monchi never considered Nainggolan on the market.”

“I have my own concerns and need to find solutions to those concerns. We need to assess our team and keep an eye on everything that happens on the market.”

But he confirmed that the club is negotiating with Nice over a deal for full-back Dalbert.

He said: “The situation won’t be quick as we only approached the club over the last few days to open negotiations.”

“Nice are not geared towards a sale, so we need patience, a strategy and to wait for Dalbert’s decision.”

Barbosa wants to leave Inter due to lack game-time

Gabriel Barbosa is not happy with life at Milan due to lack of game-time, and Ausilio added they that they are willing to offload striker on loan.

He added: “When a young man comes from a league like the Brazilian one, he can struggle to get used to tactics, organisation.”

“But he works hard and he signed a five-year contract with us. We have to assess a route with him and Spalletti, even on loan, that’s in everyone’s interest.”
