Copa America 2016: Uruguay Vs Venezuela Match Preview

Venezuela started their Centenario campaign on a good note though they face a hard task against for their second group game.

Venezuela did well in their first match beating all the odds to win 1-0 against Jamaica, now they will be looking to build on this win to get a chance out of the group stages.

Venezuela now needs 2 points in the remaining two matches to go over to the next stage or a victory here against Uruguay or against Mexico to ensure a place in the next round.

On the other hand, Uruguay are coming off from a 3-1 defeat to Mexico and are now desperate to turn their game around, this is a must win game for Uruguay to keep them in the completion.

To make matters worse,  will not feature for Uruguay in the Copa America clash against Venezuela because of his ongoing hamstring problem, and coach Oscar Tabarez suggested he may not play any part in the tournament.

Uruguay though are superior to Venezuela as they have won most of the games played between them, but their last 4 games have been a close one.

Their last 4 games have ended in 3 draws and a win 1-0 win for Uruguay showing Venezuela has had much improvement lately.

The last time they played in a Copa America was a 2 leg duel in 2007, the first leg ended in draw while Uruguay trashed Venezuela 4-1 in the second leg.
