Inter Milan outcast Gabriel Barbosa might be off to La Liga in the summer as the Brazilian striker is being chased by Spanish giants Sevilla.
The 20-year-old has failed to make an impact since moving to the San Siro in the summer last year and is struggling for game time under Stefano Pioli.
Gabigol has made just eight appearances for the Serie A giants so far this season, scoring just one goal – and is being deemed a flop, given that he cost Inter a hefty €30million when he moved to the San Siro from Santos last August.
Sevilla are ahead of a host of other European clubs hoping to secure a year long loan deal for the 20-year-old, according to Brazilian newspaper Lance.
The Nerrazzuri star has earned four caps for Brazil’s senior national team, Barbosa was a in the squad when the Selecao won the gold at Rio Olympics last year.
However, Gabigol has previously hinted that he is happy at the San Siro and does not want a move away from the club.
“I am very happy at Inter. Obviously I hope to play more, but I am happy and realise it will take some patience. I train every day to improve and every day I feel more settled,” he was quoted as saying.
Sevilla are currently fourth in Spain’s La Liga standings, 13 points behind leaders Barcelona with four matches remaining in the season – while Inter Milan are seventh in the Serie A, having suffered a dip in form lately, sending their hopes of qualifying for Europe dashing down.
