Barca Renew Interest In Coutinho With Staggering £106 Million Bid, But Liverpool Could Demand More Money

are set to offer a staggering £106 million for midfielder Philippe Coutinho in January, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Barcelona are desperate to sign the highly rated Brazilian playmaker and have already had three previous offers turned down by Liverpool, the last one being £114.5million earlier this summer.

Barca manager Ernesto Valverde has told his board to do everything they can to lure the 25-year-old to Catalonia.

Despite Liverpool adamant on keeping Coutinho at Anfield, it is being believed that Liverpool’s owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) will agree to offload Coutinho if Barcelona bid £132m (€150m).

Coutinho had requested Liverpool for a transfer to Barcelona earlier in the season, and reports of a rift with coach Jurgen Klopp are also ripe.

However, the highly professional Brazilian has shown no signs of discontent since been reintegrated within Jurgen Klopp’s squad and hit top form.

He has scored four goals and assisted a further three in nine appearances so far this season, though he has missed the last three games with a groin injury.

However, Barca’s big challenge along with enticing Liverpool to sell Coutinho is also to work out how the payments would be divided, as the Reds were supposedly unhappy with Barcelona’s proposed payment terms on their third bid for Coutinho earlier in the summer.
