RED AND WHITE>RED AND BLUE

Atletico Madrid have confirmed the signing of former striker Antoine Griezmann on a one-year loan deal with an option to but from FC Barcelona. Griezmann’s move comes as a shock to Barcelona fans who were expecting him to become their star man after Lionel Messi’s departure.

Since moving to Barcelona in 2019, Griezmann has had a tough time, struggling for goals and being played out of position for Barcelona. He will be hoping he can re-find the form he had in his first spell at Atleti as they look to defend their La Liga title.

PSG’S SPREE CONTINUES

Paris Saint-Germain have had one of the best ever transfer windows given the quality and quantity of players they have got for what are mostly cut-price deals. The latest addition to the Parisian armoury is the signing of Portuguese left-back Nuno Mendes on loan with an option to buy.

Mendes was an integral part of Sporting Lisbon’s domestic success last season, and was on Manchester City’s radar as well. PSG however managed to snag his signature and add him to what is easily the best squad in Europe on paper. Will Mauricio Pochettino be able to make it work on the field

LEEDS FINALLY GET JAMES

Leeds finally get Dan James! The winger was stolen from right under the Yorkshire club’s nose by Manchester United in the 2019 summer window. Marcelo Bielsa has been a massive fan of the Welsh winger.

Leeds finally have signed some much needed attacking depth and will be used as a rotation option with Raphinha, Bamford and Harrison.

MILAN COMPLETE DOUBLE SIGNING

AC Milan have signed two prodigious young talents in Yacine Adli and Chaka Traore from Bordeux and Parma respectively.

Adli has been sent back to the Ligue 1 outfit on loan, where as Traore who is still just 16 years old can provide depth in wide areas.

TOMIYASU HEADED TO ARSENAL

After constantly being linked to Tottenham during the transfer window the versatile Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is headed to Arsenal as he is being seen as the perfect replacement for the departing Bellerin.

MOTHER OF ALL HOMECOMINGS

Run. It. Back. Manchester United have posted the video below to welcome the Old Trafford icon back to Manchester. Ronaldo spent a fruitful 7 years in Manchester, rising to become one of the world’s greatest footballers.

MAN UNITED CONFIRM RONALDO SIGNING

Liverpool has signed just Ibrahima Konate from Leipzig, focusing instead on tying up contracts on current squad members, like Alexander-Arnold.

HAMMERS JOIN THE PARTY

West Ham United have announced the signing of Croatian midfielder Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year old joins one of the most exciting squads in the Premier League, with the Hammers in the Europa League this season as well.

Vlasic’s deal however most likely ends the Hammers’ pursuit of Jesse Lingard, who played such a big role in getting the club European football last season. This will be Vlasic’s second stint in the Premier League having previously spent a season in England with Everton.

BIG BOOTS TO FILL

Juventus have announced the return of Moise Kean to the club as they scramble to bring in attacking talent to replace the goals of Cristiano Ronaldo. Still just 21, this is Kean’s fifth move in five years.

Atalanta have made a reputation for being amongst the smartest operators in the transfer market and the Italian side have once again proved it with the signing of Teun Koopmeiners. Signed from AZ Alkmaar, Koopmeiners has long been identified as amongst the brightest talents in Dutch football.

Atalanta look all set to challenge the big Serie A giants of Milan, Turin and Rome and the signing of Koopmeiners is a testament to their ambition. Most clubs in the Italian league are going through a rebuild phase and Atalanta may just be poised to make a run for the title.

WILLIAN AND ARSENAL PART WAYS

It is safe to say that since his move from West to North London, Willian has not had a good time. The Brazilian winger has been constantly derided for Arsenal fans for his performance but he does seem to be doing the Gunners a huge favour by terminating his contract with the club by mutual agreement.

The Brazilian winger will go back to his home country and join Corinithians, despite having two years left on his contract at the Emirates. Willian’s decision will reportedly save Arsenal upto 20 million GBP in wages, a class gesture from a player who has perhaps not got the respect he deserves.
