Leicester City Interested In Watford Striker Deeney As Replacement For Vardy
Leicester city are desperate to hold on to their star striker but Arsenal recently triggered the buy-out clause in Vardy’s contract and have made a £20m offer to rope in the services of the England striker in this transfer window.
Arsenal has been busy looking for big names this summer and the Vardy deal can complete the puzzle for Wenger and strengthen the forward line.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was spotted at England’s 1-0 win against Portugal in a warm up game for the Euro 2016 and it is believed that Wenger’s only interest was to scout the Leicester hero.
Wenger believes that Vardy can do better at Arsenal and can add a lot of depth to the squad. Arsenal are ready to offer a 50 % wage hike to his £80,000 a week contract in order to convince Vardy to join the Gunners this summer.
Arsenal are desperately looking forward to finalise the deal before Vardy joins the action for England for the Euro 2016 campaign in France this summer.
Meanwhile, Leicester has been in search for some potential transfers and the predatory Watford attacker Troy Deeney tops Leicester’s list.
Deeney played a pivotal role in helping Watford avoid relegation and has 13 goals to his name in the Premier League last season. Leicester believes that Deeney can work wonders up front with the services of Danny Drinkwater, Fuchs and Albrighton from the midefield.
Reports suggest that even if Vardy decides to stay at Leicester, the club has planned to bring the Watford striker to the club this summer.
All of a sudden the top European clubs have shifted their attention towards the Foxes in search of fresh talents and rumours also suggest that Arsene Wenger has expressed his interest in the Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez.
With transfer rumours surrounding Theo Walcott and the Gunners playmaker Mesut Ozil, Riyadh Mahrez can add huge depth in the Arsenal midfield.
