Aguero Elbowed Out Of Manchester Derby After Being Hit With Three-Match Ban

aguero hat trick champions league playoffsMan City star Sergio Aguero will not feature in the upcoming Manchester derby as Football Association have declared that the Argentinian striker will face a three match ban due to inappropriate and violent conduct.

Aguero has been found guilty of elbowing West Ham defender Winston Reid during Man City’s 3-1 victory over the hammers last weekend.

The match officials failed to spot the tussle during the match but later Aguero was found guilty on video evidence. Man City officials had launched an appeal to overrule the decision but the Football Association declared on Friday will have to miss three consecutive matches.

The FA official statement read: : “Sergio Aguero will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after an FA charge of violent conduct against him was found proven.”

Aguero“The Manchester City forward was involved in a 76th-minute incident with West Ham United’s Winston Reid on Sunday [28 August 2016], which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.”

“The club denied the charge and submitted further that, if it was to be found proven, the standard punishment would be clearly excessive.”

“On finding the charge proven at a hearing today (Friday 2 September 2016), an Independent Regulatory Commission went on to reject the club’s further claim to decrease the three-match ban.”

agueroAguero will have to sit out in the high-octane clash against Manchester United next Saturday and two more matches against Bournemouth and Swansea City.
