Real Madrid striker Gareth Bale insisted on Wednesday that his side’s ambition for the season is to win every possible title.
Madrid have already won the European Supercup and are looking to defend the Champions League title they won at the end of last season, as well as looking to improve their poor recent record in La Liga, where they have won just once in the past eight years.
“When you are at Real Madrid, you always have big dreams,” said Bale at an event in the center of Madrid.
“We are going to try and do the best we can and if we can win everything that would be wonderful. Everything is possible,” he commented.
The striker did, however, highlight the importance of ending FC Barcelona’s dominance of the league.
“It is important to win it because it has been a long a long time since we won it. I am looking forward to getting back into action against Osasuna on Saturday, it will be a tough game, but we have everyone fit and that is important,” said Bale.
The striker also discussed his role with the Welsh national side, who reached the semi-finals of this summer’s European Championships.
“That was an incredible moment in my career and something I will never forget. We made history and now we want to continue and qualify for the World Cup.”
“Wales got to the quarter-finals in 1958 and it would be great to be able to repeat that. We all want to make sure the European Championships were not a one-off,” he concluded.
