Sheraldo Becker is a value-pick to be considered ahead of matchday four of the Fantasy Bundesliga 2020/21

The first international break of the season is over and Fantasy Bundesliga rolls out its first “Unlimited Transfers” option of the 2020/21 season. Having witnessed the action for three matchdays, one might already have prepared a shortlist of players required for Fantasy Bundesliga this season.

An overhaul is expected from the majority of Fantasy Bundesliga managers ahead of matchday four. Almost two days are left for the next round of Bundesliga to kick-off. Saturday will feature seven matches. TSG Hoffenheim will take on Borussia Dortmund which is expected to one of the biggest games alongside Borussia Monchengladbach’s home game against Vfl Wolfsburg. The reigning Bundesliga champions will visit Bielefeld to tackle a stubborn DSC Arminia. The pressure is mounting on Schalke and Sunday will present another tricky test against Union Berlin.

FootTheBall brings you the top three picks you need to consider ahead of matchday four of the Fantasy Bundesliga 2020/21.

Sheraldo Becker (€3m)

Forward – Union Berlin

Previously marred by injury problems, Sheraldo Becker is aiming to shine for the Iron Ones in the current Bundesliga season. The Dutch winger has got the backing of Union’s head coach, Urs Fischer. Becker has, so far, started all the league games for Union Berlin – completing 189 minutes on the pitch.

While Fischer likes to shuffle his attacking triumvirate, Becker has seemingly won the race for the right-wing position as Akaki Gogia is not expected to feature for the next game. Union Berlin will travel to Gelsenkirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia to face FC Schalke. Union are the favourites to get three points at the Veltins-Arena. Schalke have conceded at least three goals in each of their Bundesliga games this season. Union Berlin have scored six goals in three league games and will aim to bag their second win of the campaign.

Although Becker has not hit a single strike on target this season, the Schalke game might see him opening his account. The Dutch attacker has averaged 5.7 touches in the box with 2.85 shots (both per 90). Becker’s price won’t burn a hole in your pocket and his popularity of just 1% makes him FootTheBall’s bet for matchday four of Fantasy Bundesliga 2020/21.

Giovanni Reyna (€7.6m)

Midfielder – Borussia Dortmund

Giovanni Reyna (Image courtesy: Twitter/@trannelrekolg)

22 points in matchday number three – the USMNT teenager, Giovanni Reyna is already a favourite among the Fantasy Bundesliga managers this season. He is currently owned by 30% of the Fantasy Bundesliga universe as he looks certain to beat Jadon Sancho in the race for getting the most assists for Dortmund this season.

The 17-year old has clocked an average expected assist score of 0.33 per 90 compared with Sancho’s figure of 0.27. Reyna has scored once this season and also assisted thrice in the preceding matchday against SC Freiburg. While the Sancho-to-Manchester United saga is off the market, at least till January, Reyna has made a special space for himself in Lucien Favre’s squad.

Dortmund have a tough fixture against TSG Hoffenheim on matchday four. Sebastian Hoeness displayed his team’s true potential in matchday two against FC Bayern Munich. Die Kraichgauer remain unbeaten against Der BVB in their last five meetings and battered Favre’s army by four-nil in June this year. Nonetheless, FootTheBall is expecting this to be a close encounter on Saturday with an expected score of two-each.

Reyna can, once again, play a vital role in Dortmund’s attack. Erling Haaland was on fire during the international break and we might see the Norwegian linking up with Reyna to continue his goal-scoring streak.

Almamy Toure (€8.1m)

Defender – Eintracht Frankfurt

After two consecutive victories for Eintracht Frankfurt in Bundesliga, Almamy Toure has climbed up in the pecking order for the right wing-back role. Adi Hutter prefers a three-man defense structure with Filip Kostic (who is currently injured) as the left wing-back. The opposite side usually featured a constant tussle between Danny da Costa and Almamy Toure. The former AS Monaco full-back is, apparently, Hutter’s first choice now on the right-wing.

Toure’s recent numbers are impressive. He has played 155 minutes so far in the Bundesliga, registering 3.48 passes into the opposition’s box with an expected assist score of 0.17 (both per 90). Hutter’s system features most of Eintracht’s attacks flowing from the wings. Toure plays a crucial role in joining the attacks while making inroads from the right flank. He has averaged 4.64 touches per 90 in the opposition box.

The Eagles will face the Billy Goats in matchday four of Bundesliga 2020/21. Their previous encounter at RheinEnergie Stadion saw them sharing the spoils. The current form and scoring pattern, however, herald a victory for the visitors. FC Koln have lost all their league matches so far. They have conceded seven goals while scoring only three. Toure is owned by only 1% of the Fantasy Bundesliga managers and has a high probability to deliver his current average tally of ten points against Effzeh.
