English giants Chelsea have reportedly agreed a fee with Premier League champions Leicester City for star mid-fielder N’Golo Kante.
Chelsea and Leicester have come to agreements for a deal in the region of £29.2 million for the French play-maker.
The 25-year old has been on the radars of some of Europe’s biggest clubs after a break-through season with surprise champions Leicester.
Chelsea’s city rivals were also thought to be chasing the never tiring Frenchmen along with current European champions Real Madrid, but it is now believed that Chelsea have hijacked the move from underneath the noses of the two giant clubs.
If the deal goes through it will be a bargain for Chelsea, especially considering the highly inflated prices of young stars these days.
Kante arrived at Leicester City from Caen last summer for a fee of around £5.6 million.
Kante showcased tremendous growth as a player in his breakthrough season, with his effortless passing and never tiring runs, which also earned him a spot in the PFA Team of the Season.
Though Kante’s arrival will cast a shadow of doubt on the first-team place of the Blue’s defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic.
Kante could become Chelsea’s second big signing of the summer, after the Stamford Bridge outfit secured the services of Belgian forward Michy Batsuhayi from Ligue 1 Marseille.
