Chelsea Offer Club Ambassador Role To Blues Legend Lampard Following His Retirement

Premier League giants Chelsea wants Blues legend Frank Lampard to take up the role of the club ambassador following his retirement from football.

Earlier this month, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard hanged his boots despite being flooded with offers from the Premier League.

After leaving Chelsea in 2014, Lampard joined New York City FC in 2014 but he spent a good amount of the 2014-15 season on loan at Premier League side Manchester City, who share the same owners with the MLS side.

Frank LampardThe Chelsea legend has made 31 appearances for New York City, with 15 goals to his name and played alongside other big names Andrea Pirlo and David Villa.

And now following his retirement from football, Lampard is keen to return to Chelsea after 13 brilliant seasons at the London club.

Foottheball sources claim that the club bosses have already offered the Blues legend a “senior ambassadorial role” which would help him finish his coaching badges.

However, the Blues legend is yet to make a final decision as The Football Association had invited him to begin his badges for stepping into a coaching role in the upcoming future.

Finishing all the badges and securing the necessary qualifications for stepping into a coaching role usually takes up to four years. Till date, the FA has not offered top-flight players a fast-track route to complete their badges. But looking at the recent crisis in the Three Lions set-up, the England bosses were keen on speeding up the process for Gerrard – who would mentor the young English talents.

And now after finding out that his international teammate Gerrard returned to Liverpool, Lampard may now be interested in teaming up with Antonio Conte and be a part of Chelsea’s incredible season so far.

Other former Chelsea players like Carlo Cudicini, Paulo Ferreira and Henrique Hilario are already working under the Italian manager Antonio Conte.

And sources also claim Roman Abramovich is also set to offer roles to John Terry, Didier Drogba, Petr Cech and Ashley Cole as soon as they hang their boots.

Reports also suggest that Abramovich was not willing to offer an immediate coaching role to Lampard as he does not have a Uefa B Licence.
