Euro 2016 Qualifiers, Netherlands vs Iceland: Do Or Die Match For New Coach Danny Blind

Netherlands-Iceland--EURO-2016Danny Blind will be all charged, hoping for the best start as Netherlands manager when his team will lock horns with Iceland in a Group A European qualifier at the Amsterdam Arena on Thursday.

The Dutch national side looks forward to lift their game up as they have picked up only 10 points from six matches. At present Netherlands are in third place in the group table and therefore to qualify for Euro 2016 they have to win the following games, starting with the match against Iceland today.

The Scandinavian side have never featured in a major footballing tournament but this year  they are in a good position and have the arsenal to turn the tables around.

Iceland have lost one game in the qualifying round and in the rest of the encounters they have emerged victorious. Sitting comfortably on the top of the table, Lars Lagerback and Heimir Hallgrimsson’s men are eyeing to cause a major setback by defeating the Dutch side.

Last time when these two teams met at the Laugardalsvollur Stadium in October, Sigurdsson scored a brace to thrash Netherlands 2-0.

However in the previous nine encounters the Dutch side emrged victorious and dominated in all the departments of gameplay.
