The day that Manchester United fans had been waiting for and Chelsea fans were praying for never to come has finally arrived as Jose Mourinho has officially taken charge at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese manager arrived in Manchester by train just a little after midnight and checked into a hotel for the night.

Jose has a huge task ahead of him, not just to restore his glorious reputation but also to bring back the glory days at fallen giants of Manchester.

Mourinho made a come-back to England in 2013 after a gap of 7 years, with the club he “loved” the most Chelsea and had an instant impact, before a shocking turn of events which left the London outfit hovering over the relegation zone just 2 years later.

Jose was sacked by Chelsea in December, and the rumor-mill started buzzing, linking the Special One with the United job.

Jose replaced Van Gaal after the Dutch tactician failed to lead United to Champions League qualification, and Jose Mourinho was appointed the new boss, a post that he’s been linked with for years now.

United’s new boss arrived in Manchester from the first class carriage of a Virgin Trains service at Manchester Piccadilly, and got his arrival video recorded.

He looked all set for his first day incharge, as the former Inter Milan manager left for work at 7:50 am.

The 53-year old then shared the video through his Instagram account with the caption ‘I am here/UNITED we can‘, which got over 185,000 likes.

Mourinho has a lot to prove to his doubters, some of whom have written-off the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager, claiming he has lost his charm.

Though the biggest challenge for him will be to lure the Old Trafford faithfuls, some of whom, though, are happy with his arrival but have doubts about his defensive playing style and lack of chances given to youth.

Both of these have been synonymous with the Red club of Manchester and Mourinho’s track record puts a shadow of doubt on how things will unfold at Old Trafford in the upcoming season, though one thing that United desperately want and Mourinho almost guarantee’s is instant success.

Every move of Mourinho will be put under scanner as one of the most successful manager of the modern era takes charge at the biggest job in English football.

Though Mourinho has already started the overhaul at United, as is evident with three huge signings being already made.

Jose Ibra

United have signed Eric Bailly from Villarreal, Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund and the Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic who has joined on a free transfer PSG.

Mourinho is also keen on bringing back former United player Paul Pogba from Juventus, though the deal is likely to cost United in excess of a £100 million.

Jose giggs

Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs has left the club after Jose offered him a reduced role as a coach, as was expected, with Mourinho favoring his long-time number two, Rui Faria as his assistant-manager over the former Welsh international.

Mourinho’s appointment has largely been well received by United players as well, though it has put doubts over the future of a number of otherwise first-team regulars.

Though for fans in England and around the globe, it will be a dream season, as Mourinho reignites his famous rivalry with old foe Pep Guardiola, who recently took charge at United’s inter-city rivals Manchester City.

Unlike the last couple of years, the Manchester Derby is sure to be a hit, not just on the pitch, but also off it, as none of the prolific managers have ever shied out to take the verbal fights to each-other.
