After failing to secure a deal for David Alaba, Real Madrid it seems is trying their luck again with a possible new deal for the Bayern Munich star player.

According to Spanish news media AS, Real sent a club official to Bavaria last week to continue negotiating a possible deal, after Bayern rejected their initial offer of €50m bid for Alaba earlier this month.

During the Los Blancos first approach for Alaba, Bayern hinted that they will not accept anything less than €80m, matching Real’s deal with James Rodriguez in 2014.

With the price tag still the subject of the latest meeting, question remains if the German giants will agree to a pricing less than their ambitions.

A week ago, Bayern Munich’s chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told SportBild, “We have a good relationship with Real Madrid as we do with Barcelona. But since 2008 it’s been known around Europe that we don’t sell players that we don’t want to sell.

“The door is closed. No player will leave Bayern against our will.”
