Real Madrid will not be taking advantage of Manchester United’s goalkeeper David De Gea.

De Gea currently has a €50 million release clause, which is set to expire on June 15.

Real have not had any contacts with the player or his agent Jorge Mendes according to a report in AS.

Mendes is also the agent of new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

A fax fiasco was the reason why the deal broke down last summer and it was expected that Real would again make a move for the Spanish international.

The deal would have seen Real Madrid’s goalkeeper Keylor Navas move to United in a swap deal.

Real boss Zidane though wants to keep Navas at the Bernabeu, and has also told the Costan Rican international that he will be his first choice stopper.

De Gea has however said that he is looking forward to playing under Mourinho and will look to challenge for the title.

“I have three further years left on my contract with United and I’m enthusiastic to win titles here,” said the 25-year-old.

“To speak of Jose Mourinho is to talk about a winning coach and that is United’s philosophy and mine. With that idea in mind, I’m certain we can build a great team. I welcome him,” he added.

De Gea is currently tranning with his national side, as the Spanish team looks all set to defend their EURO title.
