Copa Libertadores: Robinho Equals Pele’s Long Standing Record

Robinho equalled ’s record as the highest scoring Brazilian in the Copa Libertadores by helping Atletico Mineiro to a 2-0 home victory over Libertad on Wednesday.

Robinho has now scored 17 goals in South America’s top club competition, 13 with Santos and four with Atletico Mineiro.

“I think the entire team should be congratulated,” the former , and winger said.

“I don’t like to praise myself too much. I know that I have to get better with every match and I am. That’s why goals will come naturally.”
