Man Utd News: Fears Grow Over Ander Herrera And Marouane Fellaini Contract Extensions

Published on:

Manchester United are worried as Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera are yet to agree to new deals at Old Trafford.

Both the players have entered the final year of their contract with the Red Devils and are yet to put pen paper to new deals at Old Trafford.

Herrera joined United in 2014 form Athletic Bilbao and has emerged as one of the key players in the squad after playing a crucial role in Man Utd’s success last season.

He was also named the club’s Player of the Year for the 2016/17 season.

Meanwhile, Fellaini has experienced a meteoric rise under Mourinho.

Mourinho transformed Fellaini’s Man Utd career

The former Everton player drew heavy criticism during his first two seasons under David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal and it was believed that his Man Utd career had met a dead end.

But the Belgian proved his critics wrong and stepped up his game under Mourinho – having helped to rescue Man Utd from troublesome situations on numerous occasions. And now the Belgian has become an integral part of Mourinho’s plans at United.

And ‘The Special One’ is keen to tie down both Fellaini and Herrera to new deals at Man Utd.

According to The Telegraph, Red Devils are confident that both the players will extend their contracts – with Herrera keen to stay at Man Utd for the long-term.

The report also claim that United have planned to trigger the option of a 12-month extension in Herrera’s contract if the Spaniard refuses to sign a new deal.

Herrera is a huge fan favourite

While, Fellaini’s representatives have rejected Man Utd’s initial offer of a new contract as they are holding out for a higher wage-packet.
