Promoted Premier League side Huddersfield Town on Wednesday completed the transfer of the Benin striker Steve Mounie from Ligue 1 outfit Montpellier on an undisclosed club record fee.
Mounie tallied 14 goals in his 32 starts for Montpellier in his first full season French top-flight league in the 2016-2017 season.
“He has a very exciting combination of attributes that makes him a very attractive proposition as a young striker,” said Huddersfield manager David Wagner, “He has real physical attributes that should be perfect for the Premier League, plus we have already seen his talents as a footballer in his remarkable season in France.”

Mounie scored once in his seven caps for the Benin national team. According to earlier reports from French media, he also set up a new record of player sales of Montpellier with 13 million euros, bettering previous record of 12 million.
“At just 22 years old, he is only going to improve too. Given what he is already capable of, that is very exciting,” Wagner added.
Huddersfield, to kick off their first top-flight campaign since 1972, was busy last 24 hours in the transfer market, as they also signed winger Tom Ince and midfielder Danny Williams, and recruited Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer on a season-long loan.
They will visit Crystal Palace on August 12 as their first Premier League appearance.
