Transfer Ticker: Deals To Watch Out For On EPL Deadline Day

Published on:

As the transfer window deadline approaches, time is short and less than it ever was for European clubs to strengthen their squads and build one last next-to-perfect team.

With Van Gaal and the Emirates owned Manchester City targeting almost every player in the ‘A’ class section, the race gets tough for other clubs to even handle the pressure of the premier league with stars from La Liga, Bundes Liga, League 1 and let’s not  get for any denial, not pointing Gaal for Muller and Neymar.

What will the scenario on Tuesday eve, will Pogba enter EPL? Will Gaal strike another big deal? Who will be the players that make it to this season?

For most of the Europe the transfer window closes on Monday but for English clubs the window closes at 10:30 PM IST (6:00 PM BST) on Tuesday.

Here are the top expected transfers that could turn the Premier League around

David De Gea – Manchester United

Targeted By: Real Madrid

There is no denying that the European Giants Real Madrid see him as the only successor to Iker Cassilias (Who had a controversial transfer to FC Porto). DDG had was taken by ManU from Athletico Madrid for £18.9 Million in June 2011. He has improved since then in every field, a carved legend now plans to move? ManU probably felt left out, they decided to make him sit on the bench and let the new signing ‘Romero’ play every match though he lacks ‘Gea’ aura in him. That’s some stick!

Price: £35 Million

DDG is the only reason the devils are back in the race for European title, he kept 10 clean sheets and not only this but also had a save rate more than 71 percent last season.

Though recently United clearly stated that ‘DDG is not for sale’, he would have been if Ramos would have travelled to play for ‘Traffordinians’.

John Stones- Everton

Targeted By: Chelsea

Mourinho can see his defense collapsing every match a loss to a team like Crystal Palace calls for a change. With Terry turning 35 this year, Cahill losing his form every now and then with Ivanovic looking vulnerable to other options, the crisis has just hit the ‘Blues’.

Price: £30 Million (Price denied by Everton)

Stones being one of the rising stars, it will be a long term investment by Chelsea if they strike him. A young defender like him could really start with a position like left-back and could really rise within a short period of time under Mourinho’s stand.

John is a young player with ‘hell-lot-of’ discipline, with only one yellow card last season he makes a perfect add to the ‘Blues’ who are having a bit colour crisis in defence. Stones has a successful tackle rate of more that 81 percent with a pass accuracy of more than 90 percent.

Edinson Cavani – Paris Saint Germain

Targeted By: Arsenal

Arsene Wenger is a bit stuck with the ‘Striker-Dilemma’. Oliver Giroud is no doubt an absolute classic but Wenger is looking someone who is just not short of top class as the feeders like Sanchez and Ozil make every ball a goal.

Gunners fans now want to see Arsenal in that ‘Elite Player’ zone again. Cavani will add stars to the already a star studded team. Even Wenger admitted that it has been a very average start for them this season. PSG star will surely give them a serious title challenge.

The 28-year-old striker has a consistent habit of goal-scoring, with 78 in 104 appearances for Napoli and 34 in 66 for PSG.

Wenger is a smart man, he lured Ozil on the last day with an offer of £42.4 Million and everyone know how that deal went. If Cavani joins Arsenal it should not be taken for a shock as Ibrahimovic was also on Wenger’s radar.

Paul Pogba – Juventus

Targeted By : Chelsea

Chelsea’s midfield is not-so-perfect as the attack with Cesc Fabregas’ ability as a defensive player exposed at Manchester City and Nemanja Matic not showing his old authority yet as a shield for a smashed defence.

Price: £70 Million

Paul Pogba’s entry will add the much needed ‘Pop’ in the team, this youngster can play as the Central Defence Midfielder at the start and can move forward to even replace Hazard from his position.

Pogba will not come until some exceptional offer is thrown, Juventus is a hard side, after Pirlo and Tevez leaving the club, the old lady is deteriorating. After losing to AS Roma the Seria A champions see themselves in crisis. Losing Pogba will only add salt to their injuries.

Adnan Januzaj – Manchester United

Targeted By: West Ham United, Sunderland & Everton

Though the gifted Januzaj has been unable to make an impact under Van Gaal in the Premier League last season, still he is considered to be one of the greatest addition to any Premier League team after the amazing goal against Aston Villa which gave Devils the much needed win and a start. ManU has agreed to loan him only if they acquire another striker.

Price: Loan Deal

The young Belgian attacker can surely promise a great deal of improvement, he can play wide or even behind the striker. This player hasn’t scored in his last 18 appearances in Premier League last season.

Charlie Austin – Queens Park Rangers

Targeted By: Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Newcastle United, Norwich City, Everton, West Bromwich

Austin is player who has not only proved himself in a relegated side QPR last season but also made sure the team wins with a respectable score. It will not be wrong to say that this player deserves more than a championship.

Price: £15 Million

Charlie Austin has consistently proved his worth by scoring 18 goals last season, in which five of them being headers. The ‘In-Air’ ability of this player is amazing and having a spearhead like him that can keep the team up is not a bad deal, rather he really fits the ‘Bill’.

QPR has announced his price and they certainly want at least £15 Million. Newcastles bid of £12 Million was rejected. Someone will go for the bite at the last moment as this player deserves a shot at title and can give the team a chance finishing top five.

Virgil van Dijk – Celtic

Targeted By : Southampton & Everton

The strong Dutch defender made his worth as one of the stars in the Scottish Premier League. He moved from Groningen to Celtic for £2.6 Million late 2013. He does meets the standards set by Martins Indi.

Price: £10m

He has secured 21 clean sheets in 35 league matches for Celtic last season. This record is not-so-common in the Scottish league.  ‘He really do carries the air of the unproven’
