Zlatan Ibrahimovic Admits Pep Guardiola Feud Still Motivates Him

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed that the feud he had with Pep Guardiola during his time at Barcelona still motivates him.

Guadriola signed Zlatan in 2009 from Inter Milan in deal worth £56million plus Samuel Eto’o.

However, the duo fell-out as Ibra revealed that Pep just stopped talking to him – the Swede left the Camp Nou just a year later and signed for AC Milan.

Zlatan wrote in his 2013 autobiography that Pep bought a Ferrari and drove it like a Fiat, while calling him a “spineless coward”.

The Old Trafford favorite has now revealed that the spat with the Manchester City boss still motivates him.

“I learned a lot from Barcelona, on and off the pitch,” Ibrahimovic told Sky Italia. “I learned that in football any situation can change in 24 hours.”

“The problem wasn’t with me, it was with him (Guardiola) and he never came to terms with it. I don’t know what his problem was with me.”

“Before [I joined Barca] he was calling me every day to get me and then all of a sudden the situation changed.”

“It is something that drives me, gives me adrenaline, and extra motivation. It is normal, after what has happened.”

“I’m using it as a positive, not a negative. It is something in the back of my mind. It is the past and I am someone who looks to the future and the future is in front of me.”
