Just hours after Tottenham outplayed Manchester United in their final ever game at their famous old home stadium – the bulldozers were brought in to begin the demolition work.
After the final whistle the fans witnessed a memorable farewell ceremony as the builders were waiting to begin their work.
Club chairman handed over the keys to Mark Reynolds, CEO of Mace and the diggers began to rip the sands.
The club has given full control of the White Hart Lane to the project’s chief contractor and they will bring down the North Stand before moving towards the South Stand and the ‘Spurs Megastore’.
The builders have also put barriers all around the stadium and Mace expect that the construction process on the concrete and steel structure will begin from December 2017 before they move to the interiors.
The grand opening is scheduled for August 2018.
The local boy scored the last ever Tottenham goal at their home stadium of 118 years.
It was like a carnival, fans brought an end to an era spanning 118 years by invading the pitch after the final whistle.
After the supporters headed towards the stands – a whole lot of Spurs legends took to the pitch.

The grand farewell ceremony was kicked off with a narration by Tottenham fan Sir Kenneth Branagh, describing White Hart Lane’s history.
And the celebrations ended with Mauricio Pochettino and his players performing a lap of honour after Ledley King, David Ginola, and Glenn Hoddle, took to the pitch.
Everyone present witnessed a rainbow above the ground as the legends left the pitch – a perfect fairy-tale end.
