Roberto Carlos May Join Delhi Dynamos For ISL
Carlos has been approached by the DEN Network-owned franchise to be their coach for the next season, said a reports citing sources.
Carlos, who was the coach of Turkish side Akhisar Belediyespor last season, is no longer contracted with any club. Carlos is most likely to replace Harm van Veldhoven as the Dynamos coach. However, there has been no offical confirmation of this yet.
“We have approached many reputed names but nothing is certain as of now,” Gaurav Tikoo, general manager, brands, DEN Network, told MAIL TODAY. For all the eight ISL teams, June 30 is the last date to announce the names of the marquee players and managers.
The 42-year-old also had an offer from Qatar club Al-Arabi and was rumoured to have signed for them. But the club has officially denied the development on their website on June 2, which leaves Carlos free.
Carlos, famous for his brilliant free-kicks, has played in three World Cups with Brazil finishing runnersup in 1998 and champions in 2002. He retired in 2012, after having played for European giants like Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Fenerbahce. He won three UEFA Champions League titles and four La Liga titles with the Real Madrid.
