Barcelona News: Real Madrid Boss Zinedine Zidane Discusses Taking Nou Camp Job

Published on:

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has made it clear that he has no interest in managing Barcelona.

Zinedine Zidane has dismissed the idea of leaving Real Madrid for the Nou Camp

Zidane succeeded Rafa Benitez at Real Madrid in 2016 and since then he has enjoyed an incredible start to his managerial career.

The France legend has 77 wins to his name in his first 100 games as the Los Blancos manager – having guided Real Madrid to La Liga triumph once and winning the Champions League twice during his almost two-year reign.

Barcelona might have lost Neymar, who moved to PSG on a world-record move in August, but the Catalan giants have made an incredible start under new boss Ernesto Valverde – having won all 11 of their matches under the Spaniard so far this season.

And ahead of Real Madrid’s clash with Getafe, Zidane said that he will never take up the Barcelona job.

Barca have made a stunning start under Valverde

“My heart is blanco,” he said when asked by reporters if he would consider managing Barcelona.

“The same as when I was a player.

“After Real Madrid they asked me if I would have be able to play with another jersey, I said no.

“We’ll see, however, no.”

Despite dominating last season, Real Madrid have not made the best of starts under Zidane this term.

Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid career has gotten off to a flier

The Los Blancos succumbed to draws against Levante and Valencia and a shock defeat against Leavante have left them seven points behind current league leaders Barcelona.

To make the situation worse their best performers have failed to fire this season and it is understood that they lack a proper striker – with Karim Benzema injured and Alvaro Morata now a Chelsea player.

Cristiano Ronaldo has struggled to find form this season

And Ronaldo has struggled to recreate his form from last season and has managed to score in just one of his last four games.
