Wolfsburg have added another striker for their offence on the last day of the transfer period as Liverpool’s Divock Origi inked a season-long loan deal with the Bundesliga side.

“With Divock Origi we have strengthened our offensive squad. Divock has already demonstrated his qualities on the national and international stage. He has despite his age enormous experience,” Wolfsburg’s sporting director Olaf Rebbe said.

The 22-year-old striker plays since 2014 for the “Reds” where he provided twelve goals in 51 appearances. He spent one season on loan with French outfit Lille and scored eight goals in 33 games.

“I am really looking forward to play with Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. It is one of the best leagues in the world. When it became clear that Liverpool would give their permission for a loan deal, it was immediately clear to me that Wolfsburg was the best option for me,” the Belgian international said.

Wolfsburg, who sit on the 11th place of the Bundesliga standings, host newly-promoted rivals Hannover for the Lower Saxony derby on September 9.
