Champions League Manchester United Vs Club Brugge: Man U Will Look To Defend 3-1 Lead Against Belgian Side

Published on:

English club favourite, Manchester United, travel to Belgium for the second leg of their Champions League qualifying clash against Club Brugge.

Manchester United so far have 3-1 lead in their first round against the Belgium side.

In the reverse Bruges tie on August 18, United went behind in the eighth minute to a Michael Carrick own goal, before new-boy Memphis Depay netted brilliantly in both the 13th and 43rd minutes to give his team the lead before half-time.

The Dutchman was also instrumental at the death as he crossed for Marouane Fellaini to nod home the third in the 94th minute, as United won 3-1.

The Old Trafford club will be hoping Wayne Rooney and Co can put on a solid display after the uninspiring 0-0 home draw with Newcastle United on Saturday.

Goalkeeper David de Gea has again been left out of United’s squad with manager Louis van Gaal recently claiming that the stopper has told goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek that he does not want to play for United, given the persistent speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
