England Vs Iceland

England will face off minnows and also the dark horses of this tournament, Iceland in the last knockout Round of 16 in Nice at the Euro 2016, with the winner to face host France in quarter-final.

England staged an excellent comeback against Wales but disappointing draws with Russia and Slovakia ensured they ended up in the difficult half of the draw.

Iceland played out two draws before a winner deep into injury time in their final group game against Austria ensured they would face England in the round of 16.

This will be the third encounter between England and Iceland. So far, England are unbeaten, having drawn 1-1 in June 1982 and won 6-1 in June 2004.

This is the first time England have reached the knockout stages in two consecutive EURO tournaments (2012, 2016).

Iceland are unbeaten at EURO 2016 so far (W1 D2). In fact, they have only lost once across their last nine competitive matches (W4 D4).

Possible Line up:

England: Hart; Walker, Smalling, Cahill, Rose; Dier, Rooney, Alli; Sturridge, Kane, Sterling.

Iceland: Halldórsson; Sævarsson, Árnason, Sigurdsson, Skúlason; Gudmundsson, Gunnarsson, Sigurdsson, Bjarnason; Bödvarsson, Sigthórsson.
