Stoke City veteran Charlie Adam scored one of the greatest goals in Premier League history in his team’s 1-2 loss to Chelsea.
With City 0-1 down in the 44th minute, Adam scored the wonder goal from 65 yards out, just over back-pedalling Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois, who had strayed off his line on Saturday.
However, Adam’s missile wasn’t enough against Chelsea who snatched the winner through Loic Remy in the 62nd minute. Earlier Eden Hazard had converted a penalty to give the league leaders the first goal.
Chelsea are now 7 points clear at the table with one match in hand over their nearest rivals Arsenal, who beat Liverpool at Emirates on Saturday with 70 points in 30 matches.
