Scotland’s European Championship hopes were left in tatters following a 0-1 defeat to Georgia in a Group D clash.
In a nightmare repeat of the 2007 flop at the same stadium, the graveyard of Alex Macleish’s Euro 2008 dreams, Gordon Strachan’s men slumped to defeat against Georgia and left their chances of qualifying for a major finals once again hanging by a thread, reports Xinhua.
A 38th-minute goal from Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Valeri Kazaishvili was more than enough for a side ranked 147th in the world, 116 places below Scotland, to earn only their second win of the group.

And it leaves Scotland now clinging on to their hopes of a play-off place with Poland, Germany and Gibraltar still to face in Group D.
It’s only Georgia’s fifth competitive win in eight years since their last triumph over Scotland – and once again it was history repeating with their second choice keeper in goals not being tested the entire night.
