Manchester United are being linked to every possible superstar in Europe these days, the latest being former Red Devil Gerard Pique.

Barcelona’s star defender Pique has won almost everything there is to win with Catalan giants and the move could possibly be a way for him to challenge himself in a league where he massively under-achieved.

The odds on Pique returning to Old Trafford have drastically slashed by bookies, going down from 16/1 to 10/1, while United’s neighbors City are placed second with 14/1 odds.

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United side have already secured the services of Eric Bailly from Villarreal, but knowing Jose’s love for a strong defensive line, it will not be a surprise if Pique was to join the Red Devils.

The 29-year will command a massive fee if United were to make any advancements to secure his services, but the sacking of Louis Van Gaal has taught us that fifth place is not an option for Manchester United, and it looks like the owners are willing to spend big to achieve the ambitions.

United have already made three new signings under Jose Mourinho, Bailly is joined by Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Given that United are already chasing one of their former player Paul Pogba, and with reports emerging that the deal is almost done, Pique’s move does not look that far-stretched.

A Ladbrokes spokesman said: “It might not be just Paul Pogba returning to familiar surroundings at United this summer, with the Reds now favorites to pluck Pique from Barca.”
