Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that Diego Maradona called him after the 1-1 draw against Arsenal in the Premier league.
Juan Mata gave Manchester United a decisive lead in the second half but substitute Olivier Giroud scored a 89th minute equalizer to share the spoils at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho was naturally left disappointed but later revealed that a call from his old friend cheered his mood up.
Jose Mourinho’s team lie at the 6th position after 12 matches in the Premier league.
“After a great performance but a bad result I had a phone call from King Diego. Gracias amigo,” Mourinho wrote on Instagram.
“With you, with my family, with other friends, with my players and with United’s amazing supporters… on Monday i will be ready again!!!”
Manchester United now host Feyenoord at Old Trafford on Thursday night for Europa league action.
It is a must win match for Mourinho’s side as a defeat will eliminate them from the European competition.
