A Juventus fan has completed a 1,000km walk to see his team compete in the Champions League final.
Nicolò De Marchi won tickets for Saturday’s showpiece event in Berlin after pledging to “go on foot” in response to a club competition asking fans before Juve’s semi-final what they would do “if we get to the final”.
De Marchi started his quest on 28 May and Juventus FC said they would give him a ticket for the final if he reached the Olympia stadion by June 5.
One day later and unsurprisingly Nicolo decided to start his journey. Followed by Juventus YouTube channel, the fan of the ‘Old Lady’ has been on the trail since last Wednesday and has been going ever since.
He’s recently crossed into Germany on his race to be in Berlin for Saturday night.
Juve’s defeat of Real Madrid secured the team’s place against Barcelona and 22-year-old economics graduate Nicolò a place in the stands if he could fulfill his promise.
The man of the hour Nicolò De Marchi, was finally mobbed by the Italian club’s larger-than-life representatives as he reached Berlin.
