Fuming Lazio Fans Hit The Street In Protest Against Club President Claudio Lotito After Bielsa Resigned
Lotito is already a controversial figure for Lazio fans and the recent revelation has left the club faithfuls fuming with his style of management.
Marcelo Bielsa had last week revealed why he quit Lazio just days after being officially appointed as the permanent manager.
Lazio had made an official announcement on Wednesday, naming Bielsa as the successor to Stefano Pioli who was sacked in April after a 4-1 defeat to hated rivals Roma.
The Argentine has spoken out on why he decided to call it quits, just 2 days after the club unveiled him as the new boss.
Argentine media outlets published a letter dated July 7, Bielsa has tried to explain his reasons for deciding to snub Lazio.
Biesla has claimed that the club failed to sign any of the 7 players that were identified as transfer targets by him.
The club also let go of 18 players, which didn’t go down very well for the former Argentina coach.
“After four weeks working together with you, we could not sign any of the seven additions in the work program expressly approved by the President Claudio Lotito,” Bielsa’s statement read, written from his native Rosario in Argentina.
“We also take into account the departure of 18 players who were involved in the previous season.”
“It was agreed as essential to the implementation of the work programme that we would sign at least four footballers before July 5, with the objective that they would be able to participate in pre-season.”
Lotito’s time as president seems to be running out as controversy after controversy has hit the club during his tenure and the below average performance by the club isn’t helping him either.
