Leicester Seeded As 2016/17 Champions League Group Stage Pots Revealed

UCL

Pots for next seasons Champions League campaign have been revealed in a ESPN report.

The format from the upcoming campaign will be revamped, meaning the Madrid based club will be placed in pot one with winners of Europe’s top seven divisions.

The new format will mean that teams with great history in the competition will not be guaranteed top billing.

Leicester City and their fans will be very excited with the news as the Foxes will have a better chance of getting a favourable draw.

Leicester will join the elite group alongside teams like Real, Barcelona, Benfica, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Paris Saint Germain and CSKA Moscow.

Tottenham will most likely be placed in pot three, while their north London rivals Arsenal will be nestled in pot two.

The Champions League 2016/17 will have a fourth English team if Pep Guardiola manages to lead Manchester City to a win in the qualifying match.

Pot four could have the likes of Fenerbahce, Monaco, PSV Eindhoven and AS Roma depending on the results. The final of the next edition of the UCL will be played at the Millennium Stadium in Wales.
