Big Spending PSG Hold Talks With Man United Manager Jose Mourinho’s Representatives

French giants Paris Saint-Germain have contacted Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes, according to reports.

Mourinho’s representatives have held talks with PSG over a potential move to the French capital.

The Manchester United manager had spoken effusively about the big spending Ligue 1 leaders last month.

Mourinho said: “At the moment in Paris there is something special. Magic, quality, youth, it’s fantastic.”

PSG have been interested in Mourinho since a long time, and despite Mourinho committing his future to Manchester United, PSG have left the offer open should things change.

PSG’s sporting director Antero Henrique worked with Mourinho at Porto and will be seen by PSG as a key player in trying to land him.

Mourinho is contracted to United until 2019 and has the option to extend his stay until 2020 but there have been no negotiations so far.

It is understood that Mourinho expects Manchester United to be more competitive in the transfer market and was unhappy with United failing to land his fourth target this summer — Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.

Last season Mourinho led United to victory in both the League Cup and Europa League which put the club back in the Champions League.

The United board believe that Mourinho has the club back on track, and would like to tie him down to a new contract, but with PSG’s interest in Mourinho and the winter transfer window coming up, Manchester United should be prepared to break the bank to keep the ‘Special One’ happy at Old Trafford.
